The Locals of Pasco & Pinellas is all about the people, places, businesses and communities that make our little corner of Florida home. What began more than a decade ago as a local Facebook community has grown into a network connecting residents and businesses throughout Pasco and Pinellas Counties — and now, a website built to make discovering everything local a little easier.

Whether you're looking for a trusted local business, something to do this weekend, information about your community, local deals, recommendations from fellow residents or just something that makes you laugh and say, “Yep… that's Florida,” we want The Locals to be a place you come back to again and again.
It All Started
More Than A Decade Ago
More than 11 years ago, The Locals began as a Facebook community where neighbors could connect, ask questions, share information, talk about what was happening around town and recommend the local businesses they trusted.

Over the years, the community continued to grow—and so did the conversations. What started as one local Facebook community eventually grew into a network of 11 local Facebook groups serving communities
throughout Pasco and Pinellas Counties.

Thousands of residents later, one thing hasn’t changed—our mission to bring local people together and support the places we call home.

From One Community
TO 11 LOCAL GROUPS
As our community grew, we realized that Pasco and Pinellas Counties are made up of communities with their own personalities, local businesses, events and conversations. What matters to someone in Hudson may be completely different from what’s happening in Dunedin, and someone in Wesley Chapel may be looking for something entirely different than someone in Palm Harbor.
That’s why The Locals expanded into individual community groups covering areas throughout Pasco and Pinellas Counties, while still bringing everyone together as part of one larger local community.
Today, our network connects residents throughout
New Port Richey, Port Richey, Trinity, Odessa, Hudson, Bayonet Point, Holiday, Land O’Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Ozona, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, Clearwater, Largo and surrounding communities.
Why We Created
The Locals Website
Facebook is great for conversations, recommendations and finding out what's happening right now — but there's one problem: good information disappears down the feed.
Someone can ask for the best local restaurant today, get 100 great recommendations and, a few days later, that conversation can be difficult to find. The same thing happens with local businesses, community resources, events, things to do and information residents might want again later.
That's one of the reasons we created The Locals of Pasco & Pinellas website.
We wanted to take what our communities have been doing for more than a decade and give it a permanent home — a place where residents can discover local businesses, explore their communities, find useful resources, learn something new about where they live and come back whenever they need it.

Supporting local businesses has always been a big part of The Locals, but this website is about much more than finding someone to hire.
We're building a local resource about living in Pasco and Pinellas Counties.
Explore things to do around the area. Discover local history. Find community resources. Learn about the cities and neighborhoods around you. Prepare for hurricane season in our Storm Center. When we want to know who locals love, we don't want to simply choose the businesses ourselves — we ask the community.
Through our Local Fav's, residents throughout all 11 Locals groups have the opportunity to vote for the businesses they recommend in categories ranging from home services and pet care to restaurants and other local favorites.
The businesses receiving the most community votes are featured on The Locals website, creating recommendations that come directly from people living throughout Pasco and Pinellas Counties.

There's a lot more to Pasco and Pinellas than what you see driving down US 19.
Our area has fascinating history, beautiful parks, beaches and waterways, unique downtowns, local landmarks, restaurants, recreation, boating, community events and plenty of places that even longtime residents haven't discovered yet.
The Locals website gives us an opportunity to tell those stories and create resources that help both longtime residents and newcomers discover a little more about the place they call home.

We Just Like to Have Fun
Anyone who has lived in Florida long enough knows there's plenty to laugh about. Afternoon thunderstorms that appear out of nowhere, snowbird season, hurricane-prep shopping, traffic on US 19, another patch of woods becoming a subdivision and the eternal Pasco vs. Pinellas debate are all part of living here.
The Locals has always been about conversation and community, and sometimes that means simply having a little fun with the things only locals truly understand.
